Inauguration spree hots up politics in State
Bhubaneswar: Politics has gained momentum in the State after the four union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram along with chief minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated several Nabakalebar related infrastructure projects today.
While the Union ministers dedicated projects like Wi-Fi facility in Puri, four-lane National Highway-203 connecting Bhubaneswar to Puri and new post office building in Bhubaneswar to the people, the chief minister opened the Netapur bridge over Kushabhadra river, new fire station building at Goap, flyover near Pipili, shelter house at Badatara and a Tinimuhani swiss for public today.
Prior to this, Patnaik had inaugurated on July 4 a modern bus terminal at Malatipatpur on the outskirts of Puri, a 7-km bypass connecting Malatiparpur and Puri-Konark road, a new overbridge and a bridge at Atharanala. Besides, he opened a special building for mothers and infants at the district headquarter hospital in Puri the same day.
Meanwhile, Congress targeted both BJP and BJD and criticised them for “doing dirty politics for their vested interest” ahead of Nabakalebar.
Coming down hard on both the parties, senior Congress leader Narsingh Mishra said, “When a party displays its flag during a government programme, it is called as cheap politics. And both BJD and BJP have a very good record in doing so.”
“Politics is always done for the betterment, development of the society as well as the State, but when dirty politics is performed, it is always for the self-interest of the party,” Mishra added.
