House panel’s Dhamra port tour concludes

Bhubaneswar: A 14-member House Committee on Submissions of Odisha Assembly, led by its chairman and Cuttack-Sadar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal, has paid a two-day visit to Dhamra port.

During the tour that concluded yesterday, the Committee reviewed the local recruitment process and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities undertaken by Dhamra Port Company Ltd (DPCL).

DPCL director Santosh Kumar Mohapatra gave a presentation to the Committee on the progress of the port work and various periphery development activities done for welfare of the local communities.

During his visit to the fishing harbor there, Biswal, accompanied by legislators Byomkesh Ray and Muktikanta Mandal, enquired about certain alleged irregularities in the management of accounts of the Fisherman Management Society and asked the Fisheries officials to produce necessary documents for verification.
