Govt to retrieve encroached land from Sura Baba’s ashram
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will reclaim about 500 decimal land allegedly encroached by Trahi Achuta Ashram on the outskirts of capital city and its chief Surendra Mishra alias Sura Baba, an official said.
Besides, the government will initiate action to demolish all the constructions of ashram built on the encroached government land.
“We had asked the ashram authorities to file reply by September 07 on land grab case by them. They have failed to do this. And we will soon initiate action to retrieve the government land on which the ashram and other construction have been made,” Balianta tehsildar said.
On August 27, the tehsildar had issued a show-cause notice to Surendra Mishra asking him why he should not be evicted from the government land he has encroached on.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the tehsil office had registered a land grabbing case against the ashram in 2010, but mysteriously it did not take any steps for eviction.
