Global Odia meet discusses diaspora’s role in Odisha’s development

Bhubaneswar: Aimed at binding Odias living in different countries, the Global Odisha conference organised by The Odisha Society of The Americas (OSA) discussed Odia diaspora’s role in the overall development of the State.

The two-day conference was organised at the historical Kennedy Centre at Washington DC in the United States. The inauguration of this global conference was marked by the presence of Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Tourism minister Ashok Panda, State Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra, and spiritual guru Chandrabhanu Satpathy.

After the two-day Global Odisha conference; the OSA also kicked off its 46th Annual Convention from July 2.
Noted Odia Sand Artist Sudarshan Patnaik’s sand sculpture based on Nabakalebar was one of the main attractions of the convention. The sculpture was innagurated by the US assistant secretary of states Nisha Biswal.
