Farmer commits suicide in Bargarh due to crop loss
Bargarh: The list of farmers committing suicide is getting longer in Odisha as a farmer of Kerameli village under Melchhamunda police limits in the district ended life by consuming poison due to crop loss on Sunday.
The deceased farmer identified as Prem Raj Barik was heart-broken looking at the poor crop due to scanty rainfall and took the poison in his farmland, said sources.
He had grown paddy in 3 acres.
With this fresh death report, the toll reached 34 including death of a woman farmer in last 16 days.
