CM asks to appoint 115 more ANMs for SC, ST hostels
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to provide a better health services to the students residing in SC and ST hostels across the State , chief minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday asked the Health department to appoint more 115 ANMs in these government-run hostels.
Reviewing the functioning of these hostels run by the SC and ST development department at State Secretariat yesterday, Patnaik asked the concerned ministers and officials to provide all necessary facilities to the students living in the hostels.
Besides, Patnaik asked the officials to conduct regular health check-ups for girl students and ensure clean drinking water for the boarders of the hostels.
According to reports, though the State government has approved to construct 3,393 hostels the department has built 2,184 hostels so far. Raising serious concern over the pending hostels works, Patnaik directed the department to complete construction of remaining hostels by December this year.
