Chaupata of Lord Jagannath ‘daru’ in full swing

Jagatsinghpur: The ‘Chaupata’ (shaping of the log) work of Lord Jagannath ‘daru’ (holy tree) is going on in full speed at Khadipadia village under Raghunathpur block of the district.

Biswakarma servitors of the Banajaga team started Chaupata work since the daru has been brought down to the ground on Saturday night amid huge gathering of devotees.

In addition, construction of ‘sagadi’ (cart) which is used for carrying the daru to Srimandir, is also being conducted by the Biswakarmas.

Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that the daru of Devi Subhadra reached Nrusingha temple in Puri and it will reach Koili Baikuntha of Jagannath temple by tomorrow.
