CBSE results out; Namrata joint topper in Bhubaneswar region
Bhubaneswar: Namrata Mohanty of DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, Bhubaneswar, has jointly topped in the CBSE Class-XII examination in Bhubaneswar region, results of which were declared today.
Mohanty has scored 98.6% along with Deep Bhattacharya of Kolkata in the region which covers Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal.
Officials said a total number of 48,881 students had taken the examination in the region which recorded the pass percentage of 81. While the pass percentage of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) stood at 97.94, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) recorded 92%.
In all-India level, the pass percentage of girls is 87.57 while that of boys is 77.77 percent.
M. Gayatri of New Green Fields School, New Delhi, has topped the examination in the country securing 99.2 per cent. She scored 496 marks out of 500.
Overall, Thiruvanathampuram region recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41.
The overall pass percentage in 2015 was 82 per cent as compared to 82.7 in 2014.
The total number of candidates who took the CBSE Class-XII examination was 10,40,368, marking an increase of about 1.2 per cent over that of last year.
