Bolero hits roadside tree, 3 killed

Nayagarh: In a disconsolate mishap, three persons were killed and one sustained critical injuries when a Bolero jeep in which they were travelling lost control and hit a roadside tree at Banigocha in the district on Thursday night.

According to sources, all the victims are residents of Nuapatna area of Tigiria in Cuttack district. While the two deceased were identified as Suleman Khan and Sukuru Jani, the identities of two others are yet to be ascertained.

The incident took place when the ill-fated vehicle was on its way to Tigiria from Boudh and collided with the tree killing two on the spot and another at the hospital, sources said.

The injured person was shifted to Capital hospital when his condition started deteriorating, the sources added.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and started investigation.

Nayagarh sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Abhimanyu Nayak said, “Four persons were returning from Boudh to Tigiria in a Bolero. The jeep met with an accident in which three persons were killed. A complaint has been registered in this regard at Banigocha police station.”
