BJP sees nexus between Selvam Charitable Trust and Odisha govt
Bhubaneswar: Lambasting Odisha government for its inaction against Selvam Educational and Charitable Trust chairman SA Raja over Sardar Rajas Medical College in Kalahandi district, the State BJP on Wednesday alleged the third floor of the Secretariat is having some connections with Raja.
Talking to mediapersons here, the party leader Prithviraj Harichandan said the Sardar Rajas Medical College, which did not get an approval from the Medical Council of India (MCI) for MMBS courses, has played with the future career of 124 students. He further asked why the State government is silent without taking appropriate against the authorities of the medical college.
Harichandan added with the fear of losing campus polls the ruling BJD is sponsoring violence and cancelling elections at major colleges in the State.
Refuting the charges, BJD spokesperson Sameer Das said, “The government is examining the legal angles so that it can take action against the charitable trust.”
He added the BJP is following the escapist route and nothing more can be said about that.
