Air India to launch more international flights from today
Bhubaneswar: It’s good news for the passengers willing to board overseas flight from the Odisha capital as the Air India is going to introduce more international connectivity flights from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city to New Delhi from Sunday.
Informing the media on Saturday, director of Biju Patnaik International Airport Sharad Kumar said as per the schedule, AI-077 flight will leave from New Delhi at 7.05 AM and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 9.15 AM. The same flight will leave Bhubaneswar as AI-078 for New Delhi at 10.15 AM.
“There will be another international connectivity flight AI-075 from New Delhi which will arrive in Bhubaneswar at 1.15 PM and leave for New Delhi as AI-076 at 2.15 PM”, Kumar added.
He further said that the overseas passengers from Bhubaneswar will have the customs and immigration clearance facilities at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
It is worthwhile here to mention that the Biju Patnaik Airport was accorded international airport status on October 30, 2013 while the first scheduled international fight had begun from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi on July 10 this year.
Meanwhile, the state government is having talks with the Air Asia authorities for resumption of direct flight to overseas countries. However, no concrete results have emerged so far.
