63 return to Odisha from Nepal
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today said 63 persons from the State have returned from earthquake- devastated Nepal since yesterday.
Of these 63 persons, some were able to get the flight from Kathmandu to Delhi, but others are coming by road via Raxaul upto Howrah and then taking the rail route to Odisha, a statement issued by the Special Relief Commissioner’s office said.
Thirty-one of these 63 belong to Kendrapara district, 20 to Anandpur of Keonjhar district and 12 to other districts, the SRC G.V.V. Sarma said.
Stating that the office of the chief resident commissioner, New Delhi is taking care of those coming via the national capital, Sarma said free accomodation is being given at Odisha Sadan, New Delhi and tarin ticket for onward travel to Odisha are also being arranged for them.
A total number of 457 people were now in Nepal of whom the highest number of 376 hailed from Kendrapara district alone.
Altogether 92 persons have so far returned to the state from the quake-ravaged Himalayan kingdom.
Meanwhile, the SRC directed all the district collectors to gather information about the people reportedly stranded in Uttarakhand due to landslide.
All the 56 persons from Bhadrak have rescued from Uttarakhand, the SRC said.
