22 platoons of force to guard ‘Banayaga Yatris’
Puri: As many as 22 platoons of police force will be deployed between Puri and Kakatpur during Banayaga yatra starting March 29.
Holding a meeting with Daitapati Niyog, Puri SP Asish Kumar Singh said yesterday that elaborate arrangements will be made for the Banayag yatris to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Similarly, 40 police personnel will be in charge of escorting the servitors’ team.
A special patrolling van will also be engaged at a distance of every 5/six kilometre, Singh said adding that three DSPs have been entrusted with the responsibilities of maintaining law and order during their visit to Mangala Temple at Kaktpur. An assistant commandant will look into traffic regulation, the SP maintained.
Similarly, forces will be mobilised at all resting points of the serevitors.
