12 minors including 8 girls rescued in Gajapati
Berhampur: At least 12 minors, including eight girls, of different villages of Gajapati district were rescued by police from Chandragiri, while being allegedly trafficked to Tamil Nadu yesterday.
Sources said the police raided a house and rescued the minors who told the cops that they were being taken to Tamil Nadu to work in factories by one John Majhi.
After interrogation, Majhi admitted that they had planned to engage the minors in a textile factory in Tamil Nadu.
The sources added two other agents, B. Sarmila of Tamil Nadu and Bindia Ghosal of Sundargarh, were also arrested from the house.
