Cuttack: A day after the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha lodged an FIR at Cuttack UPD in connection with the leakage of question papers during the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) examination, Mangalabag Police today registered a case and informed that a probe will be soon be initiated.

However, it is unclear whether the investigation will be taken up by the cyber crime cell or the Crime Branch of Odisha Police, informed Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty while speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference in Bhubaneswar.

"We cannot say whether the case will be taken up by the cyber crime cell or the Crime Branch. However, the Commissionerate Police can also investigate the matter," said the commisioner.

On Friday, president of the Board of Secondary Education, Jahanara Begum had lodged a police complaint in connection with the incident.

It may be noted that after the question papers of the exam were leaked on social media on January 16, the board authorities had written a letter seeking Crime Branch intervention.

The Crime Branch ADG, Santosh Kumar Upadhyay however had said that the CB will intervene only after a formal complaint is filed.
