OTET 2025 application deadline extended till November 27; check details here

Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Monday announced that the application window for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2025 exam has been extended till November 27.

The extension comes in response to requests from candidates seeking additional time to complete their applications.

BSE has issued an official notification in this regard, informing aspirants of the revised deadline. Candidates were advised to submit their applications before the new cutoff date to avoid last-minute difficulties.

“Considering the request from candidates across the State to extend the form fill-up period, the last date of filling up of forms for OTET Examination, 2025 is extended till dt.27.11.2025. No further extensions shall be allowed after 27.11.2025,” the notification read.

This extension provides an opportunity for eligible candidates to apply and ensure their participation in the upcoming OTET 2025 examination, which is crucial for those aspiring to pursue a teaching career at the elementary level in Odisha.

Worth mentioning, the special OTET-2025, scheduled to be held on July 20 this year for in-service primary school teachers across the State, was cancelled unexpectedly. The OTET was postponed indefinitely following a notification issued at midnight.

BSE authorities had halted the test hours before the time when it was scheduled.

The abrupt cancellation had then left over 75,000 candidates in shock and dismay. Notably, BSE, Odisha, had issued a notice announcing the cancellation, but had not cited any reason in the official communication.

"The scheduled Special OTET-2025 (Paper-l and Paper-ll), which has been scheduled to be held on 20.07.2025, is hereby postponed until further notification,” a notice issued by the BSE and pasted in front of the examination centres had said.
