Nabarangpur: Odisha Tribal Empowerment Livelihood Project (OTELP) now being implemented for all round development of tribals has been extended to two more blocks - Dabugam and Tentulikhunti-of Nabarangpur District, according to District Collector Yamini Sarangi.

At present Kosagumunda, Papadahandi and Jharigam blocks are covered under OTELP, she said.

Stating that a proper action plan would soon be made for the socio-economic development of tribals under the project, she directed the officers concerned to make integrated efforts for successful implementation the project in the five blocks enlisted.

The District Collector further said that a target has been made to provide homestead land to all landless persons of the district by this month end and ordered the revenue officials concerned to speed upwork in this regard.

Stressing the need of strengthening the economic condition of tribal people who have been given lands under Forest Right Act Sarangi directed the officials to cover them all under various welfare schemes being implementation by government.

Sarangi said that all restrictions have been lifted on transportation of 69 Minor Forest Produces under FRA and now Gram Sabhas are empowered to issue permits for movement of MFP and no royalty would be collected on it.

She also stated that all the Forest Right Committees would be reconstituted all over the district. Two-third members of each committee would be from scheduled tribe and of them one-third tribal women.

The committees would take their own decisions and the government officials concerned only provide technical support.
