Bhubaneswar: In yet another attempt to tarnish the image of Ortel Communications, the leading provider of cable TV and internet services in Odisha, Sony Television Network on Friday levelled allegations of contract violation against it.

As per a complaint lodged at Chandrasekharpur Police Station, authorities of Sony Network have alleged Ortel was continuing to stream their channels even after expiry of their agreement.

As per sources, Sony Network authorities, without even taking up the issue with Ortel office, have directly lodged a police complaint.

Meanwhile, talks are doing rounds that a newly elected BJD MP is behind such false accusations.

On the other hand, Ortel Communication officials termed such move by Sony Network as a deliberate and malicious attempt to tarnish the image of the company.

"The allegations are completely baseless and fabricated. We don’t have any issues from our side but there has been a deliberate attempt to blame us through these false allegations. We have many competitors but it seems that some vested groups are trying to malign our company by conspiring against us," said Public Relations Officer of Ortel, Bijay Kumar Swain.

Though Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo did not state anything on camera, he informed that the matter is being investigated as it is a technical issue.
