Orissa youth dies during Navy recruitment exam

Visakhaptnam: A 17-year-old youth died after suffering a cardiac arrest while participating in the physical test for recruitment of sailors for the Indian Navy here, official sources said today. The deceased Saroj Mehra, who hails from Orissa, was in Visakhapatnam to participate in the sailors` recruitment test. Having passed the written examination, he had appeared for the running test, they said.

Mehra collapsed after running 900 meters due to suspected cardiac arrest, the sources said adding, he was immediately rushed to the INS Kalyani hospital here where he suffered a second stroke and died while undergoing treatment.
