Cuttack: The Orissa High Court Bar Association, which has been demanding arrest of a police officer who allegedly assaulted one of their colleagues, has decided to intensify its agitation.

According to sources, in a unanimous decision, the association has decided to close every government office in Cuttack from tomorrow as a mark of protest, said sources.

"Long before starting the agitation we had requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that we wanted to have a discussion with him and sort out the matter amicably. Though days have gone by, we are yet to receive any response,” said Bar Association president Srikant Kumar Naik.

“We have decided to close down each and every government office from tomorrow and are planning to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence,” added Naik.

A decision on their next course of action will be taken at a general meeting of the association, informed sources.
