Cuttack: Orissa High Court (HC) on Wednesday rejected a petition filed by Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) seeking stay on previous order of the court.

Sources said the OOA is planning to appeal against the HC order in the Supreme Court.

The HC had directed the Cuttack district administration to take control of Barabati Palace, a

marriage mandap situated in the premises of Barabati Stadium, and adjoining shops.

Acting on the court order, the district administration has already taken possession of the properties.

The court also asked the Crime Branch to probe into activities of OOA in its order following which the state investigating agency formed a team to investigate.

CB ADG BK Sharma said, “A DCP rank officer will lead a team of three officers to look into the activities of OOA. Starting from the formation of the sports body till now, all the activities of OOA will be come under the purview of the probe.”
