Bhubaneswar: The deputy director of Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) was interrogated by CBI over a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the state PSU and Seashore group for setting up a solar project.

The Central investigating agency questioned OREDA official Ashok Choudhury for about two hours about the MoU.

Earlier, the state Crime Branch had written to OREDA to annul the agreement it had signed with the Seashore Agricultural Promotional Company for establishing a solar power plant in Titlagarh of Balangir district. The agency had planned to seize the deal money of Rs 2.5 crore given by the company to set up the 20-mega watt solar power plant.

On the other hand, bail verdict of Pravat Tripathy, who is behind the bars for his alleged links with Artha Tatwa group, will come out today. The Khurdha district and sessions court had reserved the order after hearing the bail plea of Tripathy on December 2.
