OPSC Asst Surgeon exam: Students allege error in question paper
Bhubaneswar: The students who appeared for the assistant surgeon examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) have alleged errors in the question paper.
The examination was held on April 22 for as many as 1, 273 posts across the state. The test was held in over 17 cities in Odisha. Reports said, around 710 candidates passed the examination, while 483 students were offered the job.
However, many students alleged that due to the error in the question paper, they have not been able to crack the examination. They further alleged that although the matter was reported to the concerned OPSC authorities, no action was taken by the officials.
“If the OPSC acknowledged that 12 to 13 questions were wrong, 300 to 400 extra students could have qualified. We had even written a letter to the OPSC secretary,” student Sanjay Kumar Panigrahi said.
Another student Bibhabsu Mani said,”Even though the authorities agreed that there were wrong questions they said that they can’t do anything.”
When the OPSC officials were contacted for comments, they chose to remain silent on the matter.
