Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of Congress today lambasted the State government alleging corruption behind its move to reschedule the State Secretariat’s Assistant Section Officer (ASO) recruitment exam to January 20, 2019.
Addressing a presser here, Odisha PCC Media Cell chief Satya Prakash Nayak said, “We smell fixing behind the rescheduling decision of the government. The State government (OPSC) had finally invited applications to fill up only 500 posts Secretariat while it should have actually released notification for more vacancies."
We believe that deliberate attempts would be made to give away the posts to people having connections with the ruling-party.

Nayak alleged that thousands of students from the State will be deprived of appearing the examination because the government has intentionally rescheduled the examination date from December 23, 2018 to January 20, 2019 when students will also have other national-level banking and railway examinations.
Nayak further said that nearly 10,000 students will go outside of the State to appear for the Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Examination and so they would not be able to appear their ASO examination. This apart, around 3000 aspirants, who have IBPS Clerk Main Examination on January 20, will also not be able to sit for the ASO exam.
“Since the ASO examination is a much awaited test for huge number of aspirants who will get the last chance to appear for it after six years, the rescheduling of the exam will be a big loss for them,” the Congress leader said.
