In a significant breakthrough, Jajpur Police have arrested 14 members of a major robbery and dacoity gang operating across the district. The crackdown, carried out under the specialised initiative 'Operation Night Sweeper', has been hailed as a major success in tackling rising criminal activities in the area.
Large Haul of Cash, Gold and Weapons Seized
During the operation, police seized a substantial amount of robbery items from the gang. This includes Rs 5,90,500 in cash, 225 grams of gold, 2 kg 400 grams of silver, 15 mobile phones, three motorcycles, and several dangerous weapons. The recovered items are believed to be linked to multiple robbery cases reported in recent months.

Gang Linked to Several Cases in Dharmasala Area
According to Central Range DIG Satyajit Nayak, the arrested individuals were involved in several robbery and dacoity incidents in the Dharmasala region. Their activities had spread fear among local residents, prompting intensified police surveillance and strategic intervention.
"Multiple teams were involved under the 'Operation Night Sweeper' as in the past 6 months, there have been many burglary cases happening in the Jajpur district. Fourteen persons have been arrested, and 2.5 kg silver, 250 gms gold, motorcycles, arms and ammunition were recovered," said Central Range DIG Satyajit Nayak.
The arrests mark a major milestone in Jajpur Police's efforts to dismantle organised crime networks. With the seizure of valuables and incriminating weapons, authorities hope to bring relief to communities affected by frequent robberies. The ongoing investigation is expected to reveal more details and possibly lead to further arrests, ensuring long-term safety and stability in the region.
