A fatal road accident occurred late Saturday night on the Cuttack–Paradip State Highway near Kujang market, leaving one person dead and another critically injured. A Hyva truck reportedly collided with a motorcycle, resulting in one of the riders being crushed.

Victims and Immediate Medical Attention

According to local reports, the accident took place around 1 am when the Hyva hit a motorcycle carrying two people. One of the riders died on the spot, while the other sustained serious injuries. The injured victim was initially admitted to Kujang Hospital and later shifted to Cuttack Hospital due to the critical nature of his condition. Police said the deceased was a resident of Bagoi village under the Kujang area.

Driver Flees, Police Launch Probe

The driver of the Hyva allegedly fled the scene immediately after the accident, taking advantage of the late-night hours. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the vehicle and its driver.
