Rourkela: A 17-year-old boy died and another person was critically injured when a welding gas cylinder burst in a motor garage in Ranibandha area of Rajgangpur town, about 45 km from here today, police said. The explosion occurred when the victims identified as Sumeet Roy, brother of the garage owner and Sambhu Choudhury, a truck driver, were sitting nearby.

The explosion was so powerful that under its impact, the roof of the garage was blown away, they said. The two were immediately shifted to the hospital but Roy died on the way and doctors declared him brought dead while Choudhury was undergoing treatment with serious burn injuries, they said adding investigation was on.
