One dead as bike falls off bridge on NH-126  in Sonepur

A tragic incident occurred in Bhramarpali village under Binika police limits in Sonepur district of Odisha, when a bike fell off a bridge, killing the rider on the spot. 

The deceased has been identified as Yuddhamanyu Duari, a resident of Bhramarapali village.

According to reports, the accident took place near Belpada Chowk on National Highway-126 when Yuddhamanyu was travelling from Binika on his motorcycle. While crossing the Magarkunda bridge, he plunged nearly 20 feet below the bridge. The impact was so severe that he died on the spot.

A team from Binika Police Station arrived, recovered the body, and sent it to Binika Community Health Centre for post-mortem. The damaged motorcycle was also seized from the spot.

After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the bereaved family, who have demanded compensation from the administration for the untimely death of Yuddhamanyu.

Police are investigating and verifying all possible angles, including road conditions and visibility factors at the time of the mishap. 

Further investigation into the incident is underway. 

Shockingly, locals claim that nearly 35 people have lost their lives on the same bridge in a year.
