One arrested in Odia woman rape case in Delhi

New Delhi: Two days after an Odia woman was sexually assaulted in a moving car by three men in the national capital, the Delhi police arrested one of the three accused.
This comes after CM Naveen Patnaik asked Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra to take necessary action for early arrest of the culprits following which the DGP asked Delhi police commissioner to expedite the investigation.
The case was also echoed in the State Assembly when Opposition created ruckus demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
According to reports, the incident took place on the way when the victim along with her sister was coming from Gurgaon to Munirka area in Delhi where both of them work at a company. Three persons intercepted them on the way and took away one towards Shaheen Bag area in a car after driving out her elder sister. Later, they outraged her modesty in the moving vehicle, police sources said.
In the following morning, both the sisters lodged complaint in this regard at Sarita Vihar police station.
