Malkangiri: The district collector of Malkangiri suspended Centre Superintendent Bidyut Kumar Patra and Assistant Superintendent Satrughna Swain in connection with missing of OMR sheets of the Mathematics paper of 108 students at SSD Padia High School in Malkangiri district.

Earlier yesterday, acting on the directive of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha, the Block Education Officer had lodged an FIR at Padia police station against Patra, Swain, Observer and a peon of the school.

As per the complaint, the optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets of nearly 108 students, who appeared for Mathematics exam on Saturday, had gone missing from the school premises.

Commenting on the matter, BSE president Jahan Ara Begum had assured stringent action against the accused after a police probe.

On the day of examination, photos of Mathematics question paper surfaced on social media on Saturday, prompting the state government to suspend three teachers in Kalahandi district.

Earlier, the question papers of Odia, Hindi and English subjects went viral on social media. The matriculation examinations began on February 22 and will conclude on March 8.
