Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) has revised its wholesaler and distributor policy in order to promote its milk products in the State.

As per the revised guidelines, individuals/agencies/firms can now avail wholesale rates from OMFED by purchasing a minimum amount of milk products from the dairy. Henceforth, wholesalers/distributors neither need to empanel themselves with the dairy nor they would have to deposit any security amount.

While the minimum amount of billing of milk products needed in Bhubaneswar dairy to avail wholesale rates is Rs 7500, the minimum amount of billing is fixed at Rs 5000 for OMFED dairies located in other areas of the State.

“From now on any individual/ firm/ agency/ wholesaler/distributor can purchase OMFED milk products directly from any of the OMFED dairies located in the State/ OMFED wholesale sale point with a minimum billing amount and lot size. The minimum billing amount for milk products must be Rs.7500/-of any product mix for Bhubaneswar dairy and Rs.5,000/- for other dairies,” the milk federation stated in a press note.

There is no restriction for anyone to lift milk products above this threshold limit. The wholesalers who purchases OMFED milk products with the minimum billing amount can also purchase additional plain milk at retail price from the dairy point. The minimum order for milk should be 30 litres per billing.

The press note further stated that, “The Individual/ firm/ agency/ wholesaler can also intimate the respective OMFED dairies in advance and place necessary indents in case of large orders, so that the lots will be kept ready on the date of lifting. These indents can be placed through telephone or Whatsapp with the respective dairies.”

As per the revised guidelines issued by OMFED, now there will be no requirement for empanelment of distributors/ wholesalers and no security deposit/ Agreement is required to be made with OMFED for availing products at wholesale rate.
