Bhubaneswar: With the second and last phase of Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) getting over on Sunday, students are worried over the counseling.

As the previous year students had faced a lot of difficulties in the e-counselling system, this year’s candidates demand to specify if e-counselling or central counseling will be there.

“Last year, students were faced with many difficulties in the e-counselling system as they could not get centers as per their choices. So, it would be better for us if central counseling will be there”, said a student.

While the JEE officials are yet to take any decision on the counseling system, the Orissa Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) argues for central counseling system as it won’t be possible to rectify the mistakes in the e-counselling software. They have also pressed to hold the counseling at 4-5 other places in the state simultaneously.

Meanwhile, the JEE officials have said that it (counseling system) will be cleared by this month’s end.

“We will take a decision by this month’s end because we have to do a lot of preparation and for that we need at least one month time. So we will have to decide over the issue very soon”, said Vice president of JEE, Sitaram Mohapatra.
