Bhubaneswar: Online counseling for Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will commence from July 3 at 18 nodal centres across the state, OJEE officials informed.

For ease of the aspirants, the exam body has decided to start mock counselling 10 days prior to the e-couneslling. The students can register their names and other details by accessing the website www.ojee.nic.in. After the formalities are completed, a student can retain a printout of it for further reference.

"The state government will facilitate 18 nodal centres where students can register their preferences. The students will retain a printout of registration signed by the nodal officer and one copy will be kept with the nodal officer signed by the candidate," Industries Secretary T Ramachandru said.

This year, the counseling fee has been fixed at Rs 450 per student. For admission into government colleges, a student has to submit a fee of Rs 16,000 and Rs 30,000 for private colleges through demand draft which is non-refundable.

Students can opt for their preferred colleges and streams during the e-counseling. During reporting, the students won`t be asked to produce original documents along with fees for admission. In case, the students go for admission in other colleges other than the opted one, the student can upgrade the preferences through automatic upgradation.

In addition to this, the students can get the seat allocation alert through SMS.

"As per rank secured in the entrance examination, students will be automatically upgraded in different rounds. Students will have the flexibility of opting for colleges. Besides, if any student pays excess fees then it will be adjusted during admission," OJEE vice-chairman Sitaram Mohapatra said.
