Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crossed 3700 mark after 225 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours. This is for the first time that the state has reported a single-day spike of over 200 positive cases.  A highest of 92  positive cases have been reported from Cuttack district, followed by 20 cases from Ganjam, 19 cases from Khurda and 13 cases from Jagatsinghpur district.

Of the new COVID-19 positive cases, 196 cases have been reported from quarantine centres and 19 are local contact cases, informed I&PR Department on Saturday. With this, the total COVID-19 tally in the State has reached 3723.

All the 225 new cases have been reported from 16 districts.Apart from Cuttack, Ganjam, Khurda and Jagatsinghpur, 15 positive cases have been reported from Puri, 12 from Bolangir, 9 from Mayurbhanj, 7 each from Nayagarh and Dhenkanal, 4 cases from Kendrapara, 3 from Kalahandi, 2 from Balasore, 1 cases each from Angul and Sundergarh district.

Earlier, two lady doctors of Narla Community Health Centre (CHC) had tested positive for COVID-19.
