Odisha wakes up to slew of violent incidents from stabbing to shooting in multiple districts

Odisha witnessed a series of violent incidents on Thursday morning, triggering panic among local residents. Cases of stabbing, shooting were reported from several parts in Odisha.

The police officials are investigating gunfire and stabbing cases in three separate districts of the state, including Angul, Ganjam, and Khordha.

Man Injured in Angul Gunfire

A gunshot incident was reported near Shikshakpada Chowk, injuring a person. The victim was initially rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital due to a critical condition. The motive behind the firing remains unclear, and police are probing the incident to uncover the reasons behind the violence.

Youth Stabbed With Knife

A young man was attacked with a knife near Gabanala village under the Aska Police Station limits in Ganjam. The victim, identified as Sagar Goud from Gabonala village, was on his way to Ataranga when a group of youths stopped him and stabbed him. He has been admitted to Aska Hospital in a critical condition. Police have launched an investigation to discover the motive behind the stabbing.

Man Injured In Stabbing

Another stabbing incident was reported in the Kargil Basti area of Bhubaneswar last night. A young man named Sangram Jena, residing in the area, was attacked with a sword. He was first admitted to Capital Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College, Cuttack, for advanced treatment. Police have launched extensive searches in multiple locations to apprehend the assailants.
