Jharsuguda: Police on Tuesday arrested Jharsuguda district BJD vice president Sambhu Mohanty on charges of misbehaving and abusing on-duty police officials near Fatak area of Belpahar Monday night.

Reportedly, the cops were undertaking a regular vehicle checking drive when they intercepted the car of Brajarajnagar BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty and asked him to put on his seat-belt.

Moments after the MLA departed, Sambhu rushed to the spot and started rebuking Belpahar Police Station SI and Constable for stopping MLA Kishore Mohanty's vehicle. The late night incident which was captured on camera has also gone viral on social media platforms.

However, Sambhu was arrested after a case was registered against him. Based on a complaint, we registered a case and arrested the BJD leader, informed SP Aswini Mohanty.
