Odisha Vigilance conducts searches at 4 locations of senior revenue assistant in DA case

Sambalpur: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday launched simultaneous searches at four locations linked to Sri Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) in the office of the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Sambalpur, on allegations of possession of disproportionate assets.

According to official sources, the searches are being conducted today, following the issuance of search warrants by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur. The operation is being carried out by multiple 

Raid Led by Senior Vigilance Officers

Vigilance teams led by two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), assisted by eight Inspectors and other 
supporting staff.

The Vigilance teams are conducting searches at the following locations in Bargarh and Sambalpur districts:

A double-storey residential building at Bargarh
A building at Charbhati in Sambalpur
The parental house of the accused at Bargarh
The office of the accused at Sambalpur

The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that the official amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. 

Odisha Vigilance has detected substantial immovable assets during searches conducted in connection with a disproportionate assets case. The properties identified include a double-storeyed residential building measuring about 4,000 square feet located at Bargarh and another building of around 1,700 square feet at Charbhati in Sambalpur.

In addition, Vigilance officials have traced as many as 15 valuable land plots, 10 situated within Bargarh town, four in Sambalpur town and one on the outskirts of Sambalpur. The measurement, valuation and assessment of all the identified buildings and plots are currently being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.

Meanwhile, Vigilance teams are also in the process of ascertaining details of bank accounts, postal deposits and other financial investments linked to the case. Further action will be taken after completion of the assessment and verification of assets.
