Bhubaneswar: Reprimanding some former MLAs once again for not surrendering their government quarters, the Odisha Assembly speaker, Surjya Narayan Patro today directed the ex-legislators to vacate quarters within three days.

As per reports, some sitting MLAs have also been asked to vacate the quarters for a proposed multi-storey building for legislators. In the meantime, these legislators will be rehabilitated in other places. The construction of the multi-storey building will begin from next month.

Patro on September 16 had directed former MLAs, who have overstayed their tenure, to vacate their quarters as soon as possible failing which electricity and water supply to the concerned quarters will be stopped.

As per reports, due to former MLAs occupying the quarters, sitting MLAs are not being able to get their accommodations.
