Odisha sets March 31 deadline for reports on inquiries against OAS, ORS officials

Earlier, the inquiry officers had been instructed to complete the investigations and submit their reports within 90 days. However, several inquiries are still pending even after the stipulated period.

In a significant development, the Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Department has directed officials to expedite ongoing inquiries against officers belonging to the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS).

The department has instructed that all pending inquiry reports must be submitted before March 31.

According to official sources, the department has taken a serious view of the delay in completing investigations against the concerned officers. In the directive issued recently, the department clearly stated that the inquiry process should be concluded at the earliest and the pending reports must be filed.

The order further warned that strict action will be taken against the officials if they fail to comply with the instruction. The department emphasised that negligence or unnecessary delay in submitting the investigation reports will not be tolerated.
