Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industries has selected Odisha as a pilot state for launching of e-Biz (Government to Business) project, official sources said on Monday.

This project aims at creating an investor-friendly business environment in India by making all regulatory information - starting from the establishment of a business, through its ongoing operations - easily available to the various stakeholders concerned.

On completion, businessmen and entrepreneurs will get multiple services like getting various clearances from a single portal, which would allow single payment to be made electronically against various services, sources said.

The portal will create a platform to integrate around 26 services provided by different central departments and 24 services provided by various agencies and departments.

State government services like VAT Registration and Filing, CST Registration and Filing, Profession Tax Registraion and Payments, Registration under Boiler Act are likely to be included in the portal.

Similarly, 26 services provided by Central Board of Direct Taxes, Central Board of Excise & Customs, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Environment & Forest, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation and RBI have also been proposed to be integrated into the portal. This pilot project will be funded by the Centre.

Infosys will design and develop the e-Biz platform, establishing the support IT infrastructure, implementing, maintaining and expanding the e-Biz solution and services over the next 10 years.
