Odisha Police to rein in criminals ahead of festive season
Bhubaneswar: Senior officials held a high-level meeting at the camp office of Odisha Police in Bhubaneswar to review the law and order situation in the state in view of the upcoming festive season. The meeting was presided over by Director General of Police (DGP), Rajendra Prasad Sharma.
According to sources, police will launch special operation to nab criminals and regular offenders in order to prevent any untoward incident during the festive season.
“A special operation has been initiated to nab wanted criminals, absconders, and criminals with non-bailable warrants against them,” DGP Sharma informed.
National Security Act (NSA) will be enforced in some specific cases, he added.
Moreover, strict action will be taken against illegal firearm traders, drug peddlers and other criminals.
