Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy association has threatened to launch a cease-work stir if their demands are not fulfilled by tonight.

According to sources, the members of the association will be wearing black badges tomorrow and will hand over their responsibilities by evening following which they will launch cease-work stir from Friday if their demands are not met.

Odisha Police Association (OPA) and Odisha Police Services Association have extended their support to the agitation.

The agitating employees of Odisha Police are demanding salary hike, hike in grade pay, pension and provision of health insurance.

President of Havildar-Constable-Sepoy association, Santosh Satpathy said, "If our demands are not met we will protest by wearing black badges to work from tomorrow. By tomorrow evening we will hand over our weapons and on Friday we will go on a cease-work strike."

"We will start our protest from tomorrow. The decision was taken during a police coordination committee meeting today," President of Odisha Police Association, Satyajit Mishra said.
