In a major step to curb Maoist activities, Boudh police on Saturday announced a reward of Rs 8 crore 40 lakhs for information on 18 most-wanted Maoists. The reward amount has been declared individually on the heads of the identified Maoists as part of intensified anti-Maoist operations in the district.
As part of the campaign, Boudh police have put up posters across various remote and interior regions of the district. The posters carry the names and photographs of the Maoists, along with the reward amount announced for each of them. The move aims to create awareness among local residents and encourage them to come forward with credible information.
Incentives for Surrender Highlighted
Apart from the rewards, the posters also mention the benefits and facilities that would be extended to Maoists if they choose to surrender. Police have highlighted rehabilitation measures and support that surrendered Maoists would receive, encouraging them to abandon violence and return to the mainstream.
Confidential Helpline for Information
The police have urged the public to share any information related to Maoist activities or movements. People can contact the police on the dedicated phone number 94376-73839 to provide inputs. Officials have assured that the identity and personal details of informants will be kept strictly confidential, a promise also clearly mentioned in the posters.
The announcement of a substantial reward and the widespread poster campaign reflect Boudh police’s determination to tackle Maoist presence in the region. By combining strict action with surrender and rehabilitation options, the police hope to strengthen public cooperation and restore peace and security in the district.
