Bargarh: Odisha Labour Minister Sushanta Singh on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that the firing in Sohela yesterday in which a businessman was grievously injured was perpetrated at the behest of the top brigade of saffron party.

One Satyanarayan Das was critically injured in a firing incident in Sohela of Bargarh district yesterday following which, irate locals burnt a shop and a motorcycle. Meanwhile, Das who was undergoing treatment at Burla Medical College and Hospital in Sambalpur has been shifted to Cuttack medical in critical condition.

"The Sohela firing incident is a side-effect of Jaynarayan Mishra's release on bail. The BJP wants to win the Bhatli Assembly Constituency on gun point," alleged Singh.

Denying the allegations, Mishra said "As everything seems yellow to a person suffering from jaundice, similarly the BJD is seeing BJP's involvement in everything. But the people of Bargarh and Sambalpur know who the perpetrator is."

Earlier on July 17, the Orissa High Court granted conditional bail to Mishra in connection with the attack on Singh's brother.
