Malkangiri: After the allegations of Matric question papers being made viral on various social media platforms, a total of 108 OMR sheets have been found missing from SSD High School examination centre in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

As per reports, the OMR sheets of the students, who appeared for the Mathematics examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on March 2, are reportedly missing from the exam centre.

The concerned school authorities have lodged a complaint in this regard at Padia police station on Sunday.

Sources said that the OMR sheets were shifted to the school's office after the Maths exam concluded yesterday. However, when checked later, 108 sheets were found missing following which the higher officials of the school were intimated about the matter and a police complaint was lodged.

As per reports, as many as 120 students were allotted admit cards to appear for the Matric exams at SSD High School. However, only 108 students had appeared for the Maths exam on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Padia police along with the Sub-Collector and Additional District Collector has reportedly reached the school and started an investigation into the incident. Later in the day, five persons including headmaster of SSD High School were detained.

"We don't have any official information on the incident. Through media reports we got to know about it and steps will be taken only after confirmation," said Jahan Ara Begum, president of Board of Secondary Education.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted, Despite Odisha government's assurance of smooth conduct of exams, question papers are going viral on social media. Employees who are supposed to work at exam centres are made to do political work."
