The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, on Monday held a press conference to brief the media on preparations for the upcoming Matriculation examination.
The press meet was addressed by BSE Chairperson Shrikanta Tarai, who shared key details related to examination logistics, security arrangements, and monitoring mechanisms.
According to the Board, the Matric examination will commence from February 19, while question papers will start being dispatched from Tuesday.
This year, the examination will be conducted across 3,082 centres in the state. For the safe storage of question papers, 322 nodal centres have been set up.
The Chairperson informed that a total of 5,61,979 students have filled up forms for the Matric examination. To ensure transparency and prevent malpractice, CCTV surveillance has been installed in all examination centres.
The entire examination process will be monitored from the Board’s command and control room, the Board informed.
“The State Open School Certificate Examination will be held within an 11-day time frame from 9 am to 11.30 am. Around 5.61 lakh students will appear at 3,082 centres. Through live CCTV and QR-coded question papers, we will strictly monitor all nodal and exam centres without any deviation,” said the Chairperson.
Special arrangements have been made to monitor five distant districts—Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh—through live CCTV feeds. Footage from nodal centres will be transmitted to examination centres through an approved and secured network path.
