Bangalore: Raparthi Anil Kumar, a native of Jeypore town in Koraput district of Odisha, will contest from Bangalore central Lok Sabha constituency as an independent candidate.

Anil Kumar hails from Bela road area of Jeypore and had shifted to Bangalore four years back with his wife and now serves as the Director of Raparti Consultancy Services Private Limited, a financial consultancy company located in the city.

Raparthi has already filed the nomination paper and started his campaign in full swing. Along with Raparthi, a total number of 22 candidates from various parties including BJP and Congress are contesting for the Lok Sabha seat. Raparthi's independent opponents include well known south Indian actor Prakash Raj.

"I am contesting as an independent candidate from Bangalore central constituency and my symbol is envelope. I will serve just like a postman and take your issues to the Parliament," said Raparthi.

Raparthi's family is quite enthusiastic about his venture.

"We have no doubt or fear about his decision. He has the caliber and support from a lot of people including his in-laws and locals," said Rama Rao, father of Raparthi.
