Bhadrak: Accusing Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel of physically assaulting him inside police station, a Balasore resident today threatened to move the Human Rights Commission seeking justice over the incident.

As per sources, the complainant Siddharth Mohanty, while travelling along with his friend in the general compartment of Puri-Howrah weekly train reportedly lost his mobile phone. Subsequently, he enquired about the lost device from four youths after getting down at Bhadrak railway station.

However, the youths allegedly thrashed Mohanty and brought him to GRP police station where some on-duty cops also reportedly assaulted him physically. The next day, after getting information about the incident, one of Mohanty's relatives bailed him out and admitted him to hospital.

"I was punched, kicked and thrashed by some police officials inside the police station. I will go to Human Rights Commission for justice," said Mohanty.

On the other hand, the Government Railway Police has refuted the allegations.

"No such incident took place inside police station. He was treated with respect and all his allegations are baseless," said Dharanidhar Pradhan, Bhadrak Railway Police in-charge.
