Bhubaneswar: The ‘do or die’ protest staged by the association of lecturers and employees of non-government colleges at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar entered its fifth day today. According to sources, the members of the association had performed a 'shraddh' of the State government on the fourth day of their protest yesterday.

The lecturers and employees of non-government colleges in the State have been demanding grants from the Odisha government. The association has also threatened non-cooperation during elections and boycott of upcoming examinations in colleges if their demands are not fulfilled by the State government.

General secretary of the association, Ramesh Chandra Behera said “On the fourth day of our ‘do or die’ protest yesterday, we conducted a 'shraddh.' If the government doesn’t hold discussions with us by tomorrow, we will self-immolate ourselves.”
