A large-scale operation targeting suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators is currently underway across multiple districts in Odisha, including Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Kendujhar. Following strict directives from the Odisha Government, district administration officials have swung into action and are conducting raids to identify suspected individuals.

In Jagatsinghpur, police bulldozed a suspected hideout in the Beherampur area, arresting four suspected infiltrators. Similarly, in Bhadrak, law enforcement agencies apprehended 17 suspected youths who had been under surveillance for several days. Officials said these individuals had been operating in various parts of the city for an extended period, often moving around and conducting local business.

In Keonjhar, authorities declared a 12-hour bandh to assist the crackdown, during which shops, markets, schools, colleges, and vehicular movement remained suspended. The bandh aimed to ensure smooth police operations and restrict the movement of suspected individuals.

State Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan warned that strict action would continue against illegal migrants, emphasising the Odisha government’s commitment to removing all suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators from the state.

Police personnel across affected districts have intensified monitoring and security measures to prevent disruption during the ongoing operations.

“Strict action will be taken against the intruders, and the process has already begun. We are identifying the infiltrators, and necessary steps will be taken to deport them,” the Law Minister said.

Officials confirmed that raids and arrests will continue in a coordinated manner across the state to ensure that suspected infiltrators are identified, apprehended, and removed from Odisha.
